Round One Results

FAIRLAWN, Ohio – Eastern Kentucky’s women’s golf team is tied for fifth after the first round of the Second Annual Zippy Invitational hosted by the University of Akron. The second round was suspended due to darkness.

The second round will resume at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. The final round will be played at the conclusion of the second round. The 16-team Zippy Invitational is being contested at the par-72, 6,060-yard Rosemont Country Club.

EKU carded an opening round score of 331. Grand Valley State (311) leads after the first round. Toledo (312) is one shot behind in second place and Akron (317) is third. Ohio (330) has a one-shot lead over the Colonels, Dayton (331) and Ashland (331).

Sophomore newcomer Lisanne Schmidt leads Eastern and is tied for 14th overall after a first round 79. Alex Schmidt (83) and April Emerson (83) are tied for 28th.
