Final Results
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Eastern Kentucky University's women's golf team improved in each of the three rounds and finished tied for 13th at the 51st Annual Lady Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman University.
EKU shot rounds of 301, 300 and 298 over the 3-day event, finishing with a total of 899. The Colonels tied with Atlantic Sun Conference rival North Florida (899). Those two were just two shots behind 12th place Augusta and three back of 11th place Harvard.
Alabama (846) captured the team title by 13 strokes over second place High Point (859). Minnesota (866) and host Furman (866) tied for third.
Newcomer
Lanie Campbell shot a final round 2-under 70 to lead the Colonels and tie for 29th in the field of 92 players. Starting the final round on hole No. 13, Campbell shot par on nine of the first 10 and had a birdie on the par-4 No. 1 hole. After a bogey on No. 5, she carded a three on the par-5 No. 6 hole. With two holes left in the round Campbell was at even-par, but back-to-back birdies allowed her to close play at 2-under. The senior shot 75 during the first two rounds and finished with a 54-hole total of 220.
Karra Tucker shot a 1-under round of 71 on Saturday and a pair of 75s on Friday and Sunday. She finished 33rd with a total of 221.
Imogen Jessen (229) and
Elizabeth Tucci (229) tied for 66th.
Mary Keene Marrs (239) was 89th.
Playing as an individual, freshman
Cami Beuret (232) placed 76th.
The 16-team field competed on the par-72, 6,125-yard Furman University Golf Course.
