RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University Department of Athletics launched the ‘100 Years of Football: A Century of Excellence’ web page on Sunday. Colonel supporters can vote on the All-Century Team, listen to historic highlights, buy commemorative items, take a trip down memory lane with This Date in Colonel History and do much, much more on the web page.
The All-Century Team will be announced during Homecoming Weekend (Oct. 16-17). Twenty-four positions will be filled for the all-century team: Running Back (2), Wide Receiver (2), Quarterback (1), Tight End (1), Punter (1), Placekicker (1), Linebacker (3), Defensive Back (4), Defensive Line (4) and Offensive Line (5).
Commemorative coins, helmets and recruiting guides are available for sale by contacting the ticket office at 859-622-2122. Pictures of the commemorative items can be found on the ‘100 Years of Football’ web page. In addition, season ticket holders will receive commemorative tickets that highlight five of the greatest moments in program history.

Eastern Kentucky will be in search of its 32nd consecutive winning season and third straight Ohio Valley Conference title in 2009. Last year, the Colonels advanced to the NCAA Division I FCS playoffs for a record 19th time. Eastern will play its opening game of the season on Thursday night, Sept. 3 at Indiana.
