Colonels Look to Rebound Saturday Night Against UT Martin

RICHMOND, Ky. – Following a nail-biter loss to Murray State Thursday, the Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team hopes to bounce back Saturday night against UT Martin. Tip time in McBrayer Arena is set for 7 p.m.

The Colonels (3-4, 0-1 OVC) have won seven straight meetings versus the Skyhawks (2-5, 0-1) in McBrayer Arena and lead the all-time series by a count of 23-14. Last year, EKU shot 57.5 percent (61-of-106) from the floor in two wins against UT Martin.

Senior Spencer Perrin has shot better than 50 percent from the floor in four straight games. During that stretch, Perrin is averaging 15 points per game and shooting 65.7 percent (23-of-35) from the floor.

UT Martin has lost five straight games including a 70-49 setback at Morehead State Thursday evening. Senior guard Reuben Clayton averages a team-high 16.9 points per game, which also ranks third highest in the OVC.

Following Saturday’s game, Eastern concludes its six-game home stand on Wednesday, Dec. 8 with a non-conference game against Kentucky Christian.
