CONWAY, S.C. – Eastern Kentucky lost 1-0 to Jacksonville University, and 13-1 to Coastal Carolina University in five innings today at the Kickn’ Chicken Classic hosted by Coastal Carolina.

Freshman Kristin Perry allowed only one run and one hit in six innings of work against Jacksonville in the first game. The Lexington, Ky., native struck out seven. Katie Kelly’s bases loaded single through the left side in the bottom of the seventh pushed across the game-winner for Jacksonville.

Jena Handley finished 2-for-2 for the Colonels.

Coastal Carolina platted five runs in the second and led 8-0 before Eastern got on the board in the third inning. Stacy Snellings went 3-for-3 with a run and three RBIs for the Chanticleers. Sophomore Diane Gallagher finished 3-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base for EKU.

The Colonels will conclude play at the Kickin’ Chicken Classic on Sunday against DePaul. First pitch is scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
