CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – On Saturday, Eastern Kentucky’s women’s basketball team will reach the midway point of its three-game road trip. The Lady Colonels will face Southeast Missouri State at 7 p.m. ET.

Saturday’s game will be the 40th meeting between Eastern Kentucky and Southeast Missouri State. Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series 26-13, but SEMO is 9-1 against the Lady Colonels in the last 10 games. EKU snapped a nine game losing skid the Redhawks the last time the two teams met.
In its last game, Eastern (4-11, 1-6 OVC) lost 70-61 at Eastern Illinois on Thursday. Senior Reese Bass led the Lady Colonels with 16 points and senior Nadia Mossong finished with a double-double, 10 points and 13 rebounds. EKU led by two at the break, but the Panthers began the second half with an 11-2 run to take control.
Eastern Kentucky’s Alex Jones is sixth in the OVC in scoring (15.0 ppg) and second in rebounding (9.7 rpg). Bass is third with 4.1 assists per game. Brittany Coles leads the league with 1.4 blocks per game.
Southeast Missouri stands 5-11 overall and 1-5 in Ohio Valley Conference games. The Redhawks have lost three straight and six of their last seven. SEMO’s lone conference victory came at home against Tennessee State in early December.
Southeast Missouri is led in scoring by 5-foot-9 sophomore guard Katie Norman (9.9 ppg). Brittany Harriel, a 6-foot-1 sophomore forward, is the team’s top rebounder (5.5 rpg) and second leading scorer (8.4 ppg).
As a team, SEMO averages 51 points per game and allows 64 per contest. The Redhawks have hit on 34.5 percent of their shots from the field and 28.5 percent from three-point range. Their opponents have made 40 percent from the field and 30 percent from behind the arc. Southeast has been out-rebounded this season by 9.0 rebounds per game.
