Colonels Host Rival Morehead State Wednesday Night

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team will celebrate Senior Day Wednesday when the Colonels welcome Morehead State to McBrayer Arena. The game, presented by Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center, is slated to tip at 7 p.m.

Eastern (15-11, 9-6 OVC) needs a win to stay in the hunt for a top-four seed in the upcoming OVC tournament. The Colonels’ 59-49 win at Morehead State in January snapped the Eagles’ 24-game home winning streak and 22-game OVC home winning streak. EKU, currently sitting in fifth in the OVC standings, has not swept the season series from Morehead State since 2007.

Morehead State (19-8, 11-4) has won seven straight games since losing to EKU. The Eagles are led by senior forward Kenneth Faried, who recorded his 20th and 21st double-doubles of the year last week in wins over Eastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri. Faried, the nation’s leading rebounder, averages 17.3 ppg and 14.2 rpg. EKU held Faried to just six points on 2-of-11 shooting in the first meeting.

Eastern Kentucky will honor its four seniors before the start of the game – Josh Daniel, Devin McDonald, Spencer Perrin and Justin Stommes.
