Colonels Look To Bounce Back Saturday at Jacksonville State

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team concludes its two-game OVC road swing Saturday afternoon at Jacksonville State. The game is slated to tip at 5:30 p.m. ET.

Eastern’s (12-11, 6-6 OVC) offense has scored less than 60 points in three of the last four games including Thursday night’s 63-54 loss at Tennessee Tech. The Colonels are 1-8 when scoring less than 60 points this season. Two of EKU’s top scorers, senior Josh Daniel (11.4 ppg) and junior Joshua Jones (10.3 ppg), were held to a combined total of 10 points against TTU.

Jacksonville State (4-19, 2-10) is still searching for its first OVC home victory of the season (0-6) after a 78-72 setback to Morehead State Thursday. Five players scored in double figures for the Gamecocks, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a 22-point deficit. Senior forward Nick Murphy leads the team in scoring (15.5 ppg) and rebounding (5.0 rpg). Murphy scored 20 points in the first meeting versus EKU.

Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series, 9-7. However, EKU has lost five straight games in Jacksonville and is 1-7 all-time at Jacksonville State.
