RICHMOND, Ky. – Two weeks into his career as a Colonel, junior Glenn Cosey was chosen as the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week on Monday.

Cosey earned Comfort Suites Invitational MVP honors after leading EKU to three wins in three days.  He averaged three assists and 2.7 steals per game in addition to making 11-of-18 shots inside the arc. 

The Flint, Mich., native had 21 points, four assists and four steals against Kennesaw State.  He had 14 points, four assists and three steals in an overtime victory against Towson.  Cosey scored 20 points against Radford.

Cosey currently ranks third in the OVC in scoring (18.8 ppg), seventh in steals (2.3 spg) and has the 11th best shooting percentage (54.5 percent).

EKU returns to action on Saturday at home against Norfolk State.  The Spartans upset No. 2 seed Missouri in last year’s NCAA Tournament.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
