RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University football team begins the 2012 spring season on Monday, March 19. The practice season concludes with the annual spring game played on Saturday, April 14 at Roy Kidd Stadium.

All weekday practices are scheduled from 2:45 to 5:15 p.m. Saturday practices will be held in the morning from 8:15 to 10:45 a.m. On Saturday, March 31 the Colonels will hit the road to hold a scrimmage in Hazard. The spring game on Saturday, April 14 is slated to begin at 6 p.m.

Eastern Kentucky is coming off another championship season as the Colonels captured a share of their 21st Ohio Valley Conference title in 2011. EKU was one of 10 at-large teams selected to the 2011 NCAA FCS playoffs.

The Colonels are slated to return 17 of 22 starters (10 – offense, seven defense) in 2012 including eight first team all-conference players. EKU kicks off the 2012 schedule at Purdue on Sept. 1. Fans can reserve 2012 season tickets by contacting the EKU athletics ticket office at 859-622-2122.
