NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Both the Eastern Kentucky University men’s and women’s tennis teams defeated host Tennessee State Wednesday afternoon in OVC action. The scores were identical 7-0 decisions.
The top four Colonel men (12-6, 2-0 OVC) were given the day off as sophomore
Joao Maio played in the No. 1 spot. He rallied to defeat TSU’s Lawrence Washington in a super tie-breaker, 1-6, 6-0, 10-5.
The EKU women (9-5, 2-0) won all six of their singles matches in straight sets.
Eastern’s men continue OVC play this Saturday, March 24 at Tennessee Tech while the women face Marshall in a non-conference match on Sunday, March 25.
