RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University football team concludes its spring practice schedule this week with the annual Spring Game Saturday at Roy Kidd Stadium. Kick-off is set for 6 p.m. Below are some more news and notes from the third week of spring football.

--The practice schedule for the upcoming week is as follows: Tuesday, April 10 (2:45 to 5:15 p.m.) and Thursday, April 12 (2:45 to 5:15 p.m.).

--Admission to Saturday’s Spring Game is FREE. Gates are set to open at 5 p.m., and courtesy shuttles will be running from the parking lot to the stadium. There will be inflatables for the kids and following the game, the EKU players will receive their 2011 OVC championship rings.

--The format for Saturday’s Spring Game has not been set, but head coach Dean Hood is hoping the squad will be healthy enough to split into two even teams.

--The Worn Cleat Club reverse raffle will be held on Friday, April 13 at Gillum’s Sports Lounge. The festivities will begin at 5:45 p.m., with the raffle to start promptly at 7 p.m. Free pizza will be provided to people who have a ticket in the raffle. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at Gillum’s Friday evening. Door prizes will also be available throughout the evening. --Last Friday’s scrimmage featured situational football, specifically focusing on 1st and 3rd downs. One of the highlights of the scrimmage was a big pass play from quarterback Jared McClain to tight end Matt Lengel. The running game had another solid showing even though there weren’t any major gains.
