Liberty Downs EKU in Men's Tennis, 6-1

Freshman Alex Alvaro
LYNCHBURG, Va. – Host Liberty won the top two singles matches in convincing fashion on the way to a 6-1 victory over the Eastern Kentucky University men’s tennis team Saturday afternoon.

The Colonels (5-7) are now 0-6 in road matches this winter.

Freshman Alex Alvaro picked up Eastern’s lone point thanks to a straight-set win at No. 3 singles.

“This was definitely an improved Liberty team compared to past seasons,” EKU head coach Rob Oertel said. “That said, we still have lots of things that we can correct on our own and thankfully, we still have time to do that.”

The Colonels are right back in action tomorrow, March 3 at Radford.
