The Colonels (14-7, 5-3 OVC) are coming off a loss at Belmont, 84-81, on Saturday, but have won four of their last five. EKU fell behind by 22 points with less than 11 minutes to go and then mounted a comeback to get within five with 1:25 on the clock. The Bruins hit just enough free throws in the closing minutes to hold off the rally.

Glenn Cosey led Eastern with 24 points. Corey Walden finished with 19 points, going 12-for-12 at the free throw line. Eric Stutz had 14 points and 11 rebounds for his fourth career double-double.

In EKU's four games before playing Tennessee State on Jan. 23, Cosey shot 21.4 percent from the field and 17.2 percent from three-point range. In two games since, the senior guard has knocked down 52 percent of his shots and 60 percent from behind the arc.

Tennessee-Martin (7-16, 2-6 OVC) lost at home, 87-82, to Southern Illinois Edwardsville on Saturday. The Skyhawks led by as many as 11 points midway through the first half but SIUE shot 68 percent in the second half to complete its comeback.

Terence Smith led UTM with 22 points. He sank eight of his 10 shot attempts – including four 3-pointers. Myles Taylor finished with 15 points and a team-high six rebounds.

Taylor, a 6-foot-7, 250-pound junior forward, leads the team in scoring (15.2 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg). He's made 51 percent of his shots from the field and 73 percent from the free throw line this season. Smith, a 6-foot-4 guard, contributes 14.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

UT Martin allows more points per game (80.4) than any other team in the OVC. The Skyhawks are also 12th in field goal defense (51.6 percent). Eastern has the second-best turnover margin in the nation (+6.8). UT Martin is second in the OVC at +2.87.

When these teams met last season in Martin, a poor shooting night doomed Eastern Kentucky in a 72-65 loss. The Colonels shot 35 percent from the field, 32 percent from three-point range and 54 percent from the free throw line.

Cosey finished with 20 points. Taylor led all players with 21 points and 14 rebounds. He went 11-for-13 at the free throw line. The Skyhawks out-scored Eastern 28-7 at the charity stripe and out-rebounded EKU by 25.
