Southeast Missouri (12-10, 3-5 OVC) tied with Murray State as the preseason favorite to win the West Division. The Redhawks were picked first on two more ballots than the Racers. SEMO began OVC play with three losses in its first four games. Since then Southeast has won two of three conference games and 3-of-4 overall.
Five players reached double figures and Eastern Kentucky shot a season-best 64 percent from the floor on the way to a dominating 89-66 win over UT Martin on Thursday.
Marcus Lewis paced the Colonels with 19 points, one point shy of his career high.
Glenn Cosey (18 points),
Eric Stutz (14),
Tarius Johnson (12) and

Stutz has scored in double figures in five straight games. In two games against Southeast last season, Stutz averaged 17 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 63 percent from the field.
On Wednesday, Southeast Missouri beat Missouri-Kansas City 91-81 at home. The Redhawks made 58 percent of their shots from the field, despite going 4-of-16 from behind the arc. Tyler Stone led all players with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Six Redhawks scored in double figures.
SEMO leading scorer Jarekious Bradley was limited to just two minutes of play on Wednesday due to a sprained knee. Bradley, a 6-foot-5 junior college transfer, is averaging 20.2 points and 6.7 rebounds his first season in Cape Girardeau. He ranks second in the OVC in scoring and sixth in rebounding. Bradley has made 51 percent of his shots from the field, 40 percent from behind the arc and 82 percent from the free throw line.
Stone, a 6-foot-8 forward, was a preseason All-OVC pick. He is second on the team in scoring (18.4 ppg) and first in rebounding (9.3 rpg). He ranks fourth in the conference in both of those categories. Senior point guard Lucas Nutt is second in the OVC in assists with 5.7 per contest. He broke the SEMO career record on Wednesday with 11 helpers.
The Redhawks are first in the league in scoring (82.9 ppg) but are next to last in defense (77.8 ppg). The Colonels have scored 81 or more points in each of their last three games and are second in the conference in scoring defense (69.4 ppg).
