MURRAY, Ky.
– The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team fell to Ohio Valley Conference rival Murray State, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Cutchin Field.
 
A pair of reserves sparked the Racers (8-7-0, 4-2-0 OVC) to the win, as Taylor Richerson (22nd minute) and Bronagh Kerins (42nd minute) both came off the bench to score first-half goals.
 
EKU (3-11-1, 1-4-1 OVC) attempted only seven shots on the day. Juniors Amani Thomas and Merrissa Vault, sophomore Cassie Smith and freshman Jordan Foster all put shots on frame.
 
Vault and seniors Emily D'Italia and Paige Larkin all went the distance on EKU's backline. Freshman Allison Werner also played all 90 minutes of the loss in the midfield.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Anna Hall made five stops on the day.
 
EKU returns home next weekend to host Southeast Missouri on Friday and SIUE on Sunday.
