CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Breana Beine scored the game-winner in the 85
th minute to lift host Southeast Missouri over the Eastern Kentucky University soccer team, 1-0, on Friday night at Houck Stadium.
EKU (3-12-1, 1-5-1 OVC) battled third-place SEMO (7-5-0, 4-2-0) for the first 84 minutes, until Beine received a pass from Natasha Minor, beat an EKU defender and scored the decisive goal of the night.
"We played well enough to win tonight," head coach
Melissa Barnes said. "Our entire team defended well and fought extremely hard against a good SEMO team. I am very proud of the way our team played tonight."
