RICHMOND, Ky. –
The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team has a pair of important conference matches this weekend.  The Colonels will play Southeast Missouri on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and return home to host SIUE on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Senior Day activities will take place before Sunday's game versus SIUE.

EKU (3-11-1, 1-4-1 OVC) lost both of its road matches last weekend in conference play.  The Colonels fell last Friday, Oct. 10, to UT Martin, 4-0.  Rianna Jarrett notched a hat trick for the host Skyhawks, scoring in the 26th, 55th and 87th minutes.  Freshman keeper Anna Hall made a career-high 16 saves for the Colonels, but she could not hold off a relentless UTM attack. Hall's 16 saves were the most by any OVC goalkeeper this fall.

On Sunday, Oct. 12, the Colonels fell to Murray State, 2-0.  EKU only attempted seven shots, compared to the Racers' 19.  Hall made five stops, adding to her OVC-leading 98 saves.

Southeast Missouri comes into Friday's match at 6-5-0 overall and 3-2 in OVC play.  The Redhawks have shut out five of 11 opponents this season. EKU is 2-6-1 all-time against Southeast Missouri, with the lone tie coming last fall in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

On Sunday, the Colonels will face the first-place team in the OVC. SIUE (7-5-1, 4-1-0 OVC) has scored 17 goals in their 13 matches this season. The Cougars' Kayla Delgado is currently third in the OVC in shots, at almost three per-game.

Last season, the Cougars narrowly defeated the Colonels, 2-1 in Edwardsville, Ill. The series between the two is dead even, totaling 3-3-1 since the first matchup in 2005.

EKU is tied for eighth in the OVC with Belmont and Eastern Illinois.  Only the top-six teams advance to the conference tournament.

Following this weekend, the Colonels' next matchup will be on Oct. 24 against Eastern Illinois at the EKU Soccer Field. First touch is currently scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
