RICHMOND, Ky. –
The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will host Asbury in its home opener on Tuesday night at McBrayer Arena. Tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

EKU is 4-2 in home openers under seventh-year head coach Chrissy Roberts. The Colonels' last home-opener loss came against then-No. 9 Louisville on Nov. 17, 2011.

Eastern (2-3) went 1-1 in the UNCW Hampton Inn Thanksgiving Classic in Wilmington, North Carolina over the holiday weekend. The Colonels shot a season-high 49.3 percent from the field in a 71-62 win over Western Carolina on Friday. One day later they nearly matched their season-low, shooting 28.3 percent from the field in a 62-45 loss to North Florida.

Junior forward Shelly Harper recorded her first double-double of the season in the loss to UNF, scoring 10 points and grabbing a career-high 13 boards.

Sophomore guard Michaela Hunter enters December leading EKU and ranking seventh in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring (15.8 points-per-game). The reigning OVC Player of the Week dropped 20 points in the Colonels' win over Western Carolina on Friday.

Asbury (5-1) arrives in Richmond having won five straight, including a 95-85 victory over St. Catharine College on Nov. 24.

Brittany Warren paces the Eagles at 13.8 points-per-game.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the EKU and Asbury women's basketball programs.
