The Colonels (6-4) never trailed in their 72-44 win against the Hurricanes. EKU led by two at halftime but began the second stanza with a 24-4 run.
After beating No. 18 Miami by 28 on the road, Eastern Kentucky's RPI shot from 165 to 97, tops among OVC teams. After Saturday's games, the Colonels moved up even further to 88.

Corey Walden led Eastern with a game-high 18 points. The Daytona Beach native also had five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Timmy Knipp added 17 points.
Eric Stutz scored 13, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out five assists.
Isaac McGlone came off the bench to score 12 points on 4-of-4 shooting from three-point range.
EKU out-rebounded Miami by 11 (37-26). Seven of the nine players that played had two or more rebounds and five had four or more boards. Eastern out-scored the Hurricanes by 18 points off turnovers (20-2). The Colonels knocked down 14-of-26 (53.8 percent) of its three-pointers.
Monday's game could be a defensive showdown. Florida Atlantic has held its opponents to 59.4 points per game while Eastern's foes are averaging 61.7 per contest. Offensively, the Owls have been held to less than 60 points five times this season but still won two of those games.
The Colonels shot 54 percent from three-point range at Miami and are shooting 35 percent for the season but FAU has limited its opponents to 24 percent shooting from deep.
Florida Atlantic is 5-4 overall this season. The Owls had a four-game winning streak snapped at St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday. FAU is 4-0 at home this season with wins over two non-Division I teams, East Carolina and Stetson.
Solomon Poole, a transfer from Georgia Tech, recently became eligible. The 6-0 guard scored 23 in his debut against Stetson and through two games he's leading the team with an average of 16.5 points. Marquan Botley, a 5-foot-10 sophomore guard, is averaging 12.2 points. Justin Raffington, a 6-foot-9 senior center, leads the team in rebounding (7.3 rpg) but did not play on Saturday.
Botley had 12 points and Poole added 10 in a 61-56 loss to St. Francis Brooklyn. Both teams shot 39 percent from the field, but FAU was out-rebounded by 12.
