Two-Game OVC Road Trip For Men's Basketball Begins Thursday At Tech

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. –
A two-game Ohio Valley Conference road trip for the Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball team begins Thursday at Tennessee Tech University.

The game features two of the top three teams in the OVC in scoring defense. EKU (second) allows 70.2 points and TTU (third) allows 71.6 points per game. Eastern Kentucky is 13-0 this season when holding opponents under 70 points. The Colonels are 4-8 when allowing 70 or more.

On Saturday, Eastern lost 86-79 at home to Morehead State. The Eagles shot 58.3 percent (28-of-48) from the floor. Morehead State's 86 points tied for the most scored against the Colonels this season. Glenn Cosey led EKU with 18 points. Corey Walden chipped in with 12 points and a team-best eight boards.

Cosey leads EKU with 19 points and 4.2 assists per game. Walden contributes 13.2 points and four rebounds a night.

Eastern has the best turnover margin in the nation (+7.0). The Colonels have committed 27 fewer turnovers over the last two games than their opponents. Tennessee Tech averages 14.6 turnovers, 0.4 less than its opponents over the course of the season.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a 72-60 road win over Jacksonville State. TTU shot 51 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Gamecocks by 11. Dennis Ogbe led Tech with 15 points and eight rebounds. Ladon Carter scored 12 points off the bench and grabbed eight boards.

Tennessee Tech has the second best rebound margin in the OVC at +3.6. EKU was out-rebounded by 14 against Morehead State.

Dwan Caldwell, a 6-foot-8 junior center, leads the team in scoring (10.2 ppg) and is second in rebounding (5.4 rpg). Ogbe, a 6-foot-7 senior forward, averages 10 points and a team-best six rebounds per game.

Tennessee Tech has the third lowest three-point shooting percentage (31.5 percent) in the OVC. The Golden Eagles allow opponents to shoot 37.4 percent from behind the arc, third highest in the conference.
