RICHMOND, Ky. – With two games remaining in the regular season, Eastern Kentucky will look to secure a top-4 seed and the first round tournament bye that comes with it. The Colonels play host to Tennessee Tech on Thursday.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The live radio broadcast is available in the Richmond area on WCYO 100.7 FM, and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com. A live video broadcast is available on OVCDigitalNetwork.com.

The Colonels are 19-9 overall and currently hold the fourth best record in the Ohio Valley Conference at 9-5. The Golden Eagles are 15-14 overall, but just one game behind EKU at 8-6 in league play. The division winners each get two byes and do not play until the semifinals. The two teams with the next best records get one bye.

In its last game, Eastern Kentucky made 17 three-pointers on its way to a 96-75 victory at Austin Peay on Saturday. Glenn Cosey knocked down eight of Eastern's three-pointers and finished with a game-best 27 points to go along with nine assists. Fellow senior Tarius Johnson made four 3-pointers and finished with a new career-high 24 points.

The Colonels went 17-of-32 from long range for a season-best 53.1 percent. EKU shot 57.9 percent from the field, had 25 assists on 33 field goals and committed 10 fewer turnovers.

Cosey ranks fifth in the country with 95 three-point field goals, ninth with an average of 3.39 three-pointers per game and 23rd in three-point shooting (42.4 percent). With his 27 points at Austin Peay, Cosey surpassed the 2,000-point mark for his collegiate career. He scored 1046 at Columbus State Community College and has scored 971 at EKU. He needs only 29 points to become Eastern's 32nd member of the 1,000-point club.

Cosey is also closing in on the school record for three-pointers in a season. He needs nine more to tie the Jeff McGill (1987-88) and Adam Leonard (2006-07) with 104.

EKU is second in the OVC in scoring defense (70.2 ppg). Tennessee Tech is fourth (71.6 ppg). However, Eastern Kentucky has allowed 70 or more points in six of its last eight conference games. EKU is 14-0 this season when holding opponents under 70 points.

When Eastern Kentucky and Tech played in Cookeville on Feb. 13, Eastern turned the ball over a season-high 17 times and allowed Tennessee Tech to shoot 56 percent from the field in a 72-66 loss.

The Golden Eagles led by as many as 16 in the first half. The Colonels got within two with 14:59 left in the game and trailed by three with 2:03 left, but could never get over the hump.

Corey Walden led EKU with 17 points, five assists and four rebounds. Marcus Lewis finished with 14 points. Dennis Ogbe led all players with 18 points and tied for a game-best seven rebounds for Tech.

Tennessee Tech has committed 66 more personal fouls than its opponents and has been out-scored at the free throw line by 78 points. In the first meeting, TTU committed four fewer fouls and went to the free throw line five more times.
