RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky will step out of conference play to host the Chattanooga on Tuesday. The Colonels will try to set a new program record for consecutive home court non-conference victories.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The live radio broadcast is available in the Richmond area on WCYO 100.7 FM, and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com. A live video broadcast is available on OVCDigitalNetwork.com.

With their win over North Carolina A&T on Dec. 18, the Colonels tied the program record with their 21st straight home non-conference win. EKU also won 21 straight from 1977-78 to 1980-81. Eastern stands at 43-7 (.860) in home non-conference games under head coach Jeff Neubauer.

On Saturday, senior Glenn Cosey banked in a 37-footer right before the buzzer to give Eastern Kentucky an improbable 79-78 win over visiting Southeast Missouri. The shot, which completed a comeback from 10-points down with 3:57 left, earned the No. 1 spot on SportsCenter's Top-10 Plays. Cosey was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Cosey and junior Corey Walden each posted a team-best 20 points.

EKU (16-7, 7-3 OVC) is second in the OVC in scoring offense (78.9) and scoring defense (69.8 ppg). The Colonel defense has thrived off opponents turnovers this season, committing 149 fewer turnovers and out-scoring their opponents off turnovers by 215 points. However, EKU has been out-scored off turnovers in four of its last eight games.

Chattanooga (15-9, 9-1 SoCon) started the season 4-8 and then won 10 straight before losing to Davidson on Thursday. The Mocs are coming off a 67-52 win over Furman on Saturday. UTC had 10 steals, leading to 19 Furman turnovers. Casey Jones had a game-best 18 points. Z. Mason contributed 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Mason, a 6-foot-6 senior forward, leads the team with 17.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Jones, a 6-foot-5 sophomore guard, is second on the team in scoring at 12.3 points per game. As a team, Chattanooga has shot 44 percent from the field this season and has allowed its opponents to shoot 47 percent.

When these two teams met last season, Eastern Kentucky jumped out to an 11-0 lead and never trailed in a 63-52 victory at Chattanooga.

Glenn Cosey and Mike DiNunno got the Colonels off to a quick start as Eastern scored the first 11 points of the game. Cosey scored the first six and DiNunno scored the next five. UTC had seven turnovers and only one field goal attempt in the first four minutes.

Cosey finished with 23 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Mason had six points and nine rebounds for the Mocs. Jones finished with two points and four rebounds.
