After beginning the season with an 8-5 non-conference record, Tennessee Tech (9-11, 1-6 OVC) has opened OVC play with just one win in seven games. TTU's lone league victory was against Austin Peay, 72-56, at home.
Three of Tech's top four scorers are post players. The trio of 6-foot-10 Charles Jackson, 6-foot-8 Dwan Caldwell and 6-foot-5 Josiah Moore account for 50 percent of the team's points and 53 percent of its rebounds.
Jackson, a junior college newcomer, leads the team in scoring (13.8 ppg) and rebounding (9.2 rpg). He leads the OVC with 13 double-doubles and is second in rebounding. The last time these two teams play, a late 23-7 run propelled Eastern Kentucky to a 74-67 win over visiting Tennessee Tech on Feb. 27, 2014.
Moore's jumper capped a 7-0 Tech run and put the visitors on top 55-49 with 8:00 left. However, the Colonels scored seven unanswered of their own to key the game-changing 23-7 run that would carry into the final minute of the game.
Tarius Johnson and Glenn Cosey led Eastern Kentucky with 20 points each. Corey Walden added 14 and Stutz finished with 12 points and a team-best six rebounds. Jeremiah Samarrippas led all players with 22 points for Tennessee Tech.

Eastern is 27-35 in games played in Cookeville and is 3-3 in the last six games on TTU's home court. The two teams split the season series in 2014-15 with each winning on their own home court.
