New Courtside Student Seating Installed at McBrayer Arena

RICHMOND, Ky. – Students will now be right on top of the action at EKU men's and women's basketball games, as new student bleachers have been installed at the south endzone of McBrayer Arena.

The bleachers create 96 additional seats. The EKU Pep Band will occupy a portion of the bleachers near press row. The remainder of the bleachers will be open to students.

"This is all about the student body," Director of Athletics Steve Lochmueller said. "These bleachers will create a more exciting atmosphere for our student fans and our student-athletes."

The new student seating is just the latest chapter in the renovation of McBrayer Arena. In the last two years, a new court, new lights, and a state-of-the-art Daktronics HD video board have been installed inside Alumni Coliseum.

"We worked closely with SGA President Katie Scott to make these bleachers a reality and we need the support of our students to make the bleachers a success." Lochmueller added. "We look forward to taking one of the best home court advantages in the OVC and making it even better by bringing our students closer to the action."

The EKU men's team returns to McBrayer Arena to host Manhattan College on Wednesday, December 29, at 2:00 p.m. The EKU women's team hosts Davis & Elkins the following day at 2:00 p.m.
