Â
In the bottom of the first, the Golden Eagles shortstop, Sabrie Neeb, homered over the right center wall to give TTU an early 1-0 lead.

The third inning was a big one for EKU as the Colonels scored all of their runs. Junior
Kayla Joyce started the rally with a double down the right field line. Freshman
Paige Murphy then singled to left. After junior
Sarah Fobbs tied the game with a sacrifice fly, freshman
Sarah Jackson came through with a two-out single to right center that scored two more runs.
Â
However, TTU (29-26) exploded for five runs in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth to pull away. Alyssa Richards led the Golden Eagles from the batter's box with two home runs and three RBIs.
