RICHMOND, Ky. –
The EKU women's basketball team will host Southern Conference opponent, Western Carolina University on Tuesday at McBrayer Arena. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
Admission is FREE with a donation of one or more non-perishable food items.
 
WHAT TO KNOW
 
- The Colonels trimmed a 21-point deficit down to six in the opening minutes of the third quarter at Kent State, before a late Golden Flash run.
 
-  Redshirt senior Shavontae Naylor led the Colonels with 21 points and six rebounds in last week's loss. Naylor has scored in double figures in both of her first games with EKU, after transferring from South Florida and leads the OVC with 3.0 steals-per-game.
 
- Senior guard Mariah Massengill netted a career-high 15 points on 6-of-14 from the field and 3-of-6 from deep in EKU's loss at Kent State. Massengill is shooting .500 from deep this season and leads the conference in the category.
 
- EKU's 29 turnovers are eighth fewest in the nation and are the best in the Ohio Valley Conference.
 
 SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
- Western Carolina picked up its first win of the season with a 95-48 win over North Greenville on Sunday.
 
- Sherae Bonner leads the Catamounts, averaging 12.0 points and 12.0 rebounds-per-game.
 
- EKU leads the all-time series, 12-3, and have won the last two meetings. The Colonels won last year's meeting in Richmond 91-62.
 
UP NEXT
 
- EKU will take on Morgan State University on Friday and Western Michigan on Saturday at the Plaza Lights Classic hosted by the University of Missouri Kansas City. Friday's game is scheduled for a 4:30 ET tip while Saturday's contest is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
