RICHMOND, Ky. – The EKU men's and women's tennis teams will close out regular season play, as they host Eastern Illinois University and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for Ohio Valley Conference matches this weekend at Tom Higgins Courts.
 
The EKU women's team will look to complete OVC play with a 9-1 mark. The Colonels opened OVC play winning seven straight matches, before falling at UT Martin on Saturday.
 
Sophomore Laura Argente has won nine of her last 10 singles matches and has won seven consecutive conference singles matches. Argente was named OVC Female Tennis Athlete of the Week on Tuesday for the second time this season.
 
EIU (12-6, 6-2 OVC) is currently one match behind the Colonels heading into the final weekend of league play. The Panthers are coming off a 4-3 loss against SIUE and a 6-1 win over Jacksonville State.
 
On the men's side, the Colonels have won four of their last five. The lone loss during that stretch was to OVC frontrunner Tennessee Tech in Cookeville.
 
EKU (16-11, 5-2 OVC) took down Morehead State on April 5 in its last match.
