RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky's men's golf team will host the EKU Intercollegiate sponsored by Raising Cane's on Saturday and Sunday at the University Club at Arlington.
This event will be the Colonels' first home event since 2007. Local police and fire fighters will be involved in the event as well.
The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The EKU Intercollegiate will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
The 18 participating teams include Cleveland State, Dayton, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Florida Gulf Coast, George Mason, Longwood, Marshall, Mercer, Morehead State, Murray State,
Northern Kentucky, Ohio, SIU Edwardsville, Tennessee State, Tennessee-Martin and Youngstown State.
The course at the University Club at Arlington will have a par of 70 and play to 6,623 yards.
The Colonels are coming off a first place finish at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational.
Erik Lindwall's second round 7-under 63 set a new school record, beating the previous program record of 64. He was chosen as the Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.
The EKU starting five will likely feature sophomore Lindwall, juniors
Will Sallee,
Noah Combs and
Jared Brown, and senior
Travis Rose.
