Colonels Look to Get Back on Track vs. Asbury on Saturday

RICHMOND, Ky.  – The Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball team will look to get back on track when the Colonels host Asbury on Saturday. Tipoff from McBrayer Arena is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET.

- EKU (2-3) dropped two games in Las Vegas earlier this week, losing to Prairie View A&M, 80-70, on Monday and to Eastern Washington, 83-62, on Wednesday.

- Junior Nick Mayo averaged 21.0 points and 6.5 rebounds-per-game in the two losses.

- The Colonels played without their top three point guards from the preseason in Las Vegas: Asante Gist, JacQuess Hobbs and Dujuanta Weaver (out for the season).

- EKU leads the OVC and ranks 24th in the country in free throw percentage (79.1%). Three Colonels rank in the top-10 in the OVC from the stripe: Mayo (3rd / 90.3%), Dedric Boyd (5th / 88.0%) and Peyton Broughton (9th / 85.7%).

- Mayo also currently ranks second in the OVC in scoring (20.0 points-per-game), fifth in rebounding (8.6 rebounds-per-game), second in blocks (1.4 blocks-per-game) and sixth in field goal percentage (60.7%).

- Junior Jackson Davis came up with five steals in EKU's two games in Las Vegas and now ranks in the top-15 in the OVC in that category (1.4 steals-per-game).

- EKU has used five different starting lineups in its five games so far this season.

- Sophomore DeAndre Dishman got to the free throw line a career-high 13 times against Eastern Washington on Wednesday. Dishman is shooting 64.1% from the line this year (he shot 55.2% last year). 

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

- Asbury (4-3) has won two straight, including a 93-87 victory over Kentucky Christian on November 18.

- Trenton Thompson paces the Eagles at 25.1 points-per-game.

- This is only the second all-time meeting between EKU and Asbury. The Colonels defeated the Eagles, 63-46, in their 2006-07 season opener (November 10).
