@EKUWBB Travels To Bowling Green State For Season Opener

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will travel to Ohio to take on the Bowling Green State University Falcons in its season opener on Friday. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET.

- The Colonels (0-0, 0-0 OVC) won their lone exhibition game against the Davis & Elkins Senators, 67-54, Sunday afternoon in McBrayer Arena.
 
- Freshman Bria Bass poured in a game-high 19 points against the Senators. The Tucker, Georgia native shot 50 percent from the field and was 5-for-9 from behind the arc.
 
- Senior Madison Wood scored 12 points off the bench for the Colonels against Davis & Elkins. She also connected on four of her six free throws.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
- Bowling Green State (0-0, 0-0 MAC) defeated Seton Hill Griffins, 92-62, in its only exhibition game.
 
- Sierra Thompson and Sydney Lambert led Bowling Green with 17 points apiece in their win over Seton Hill.
 
- The Falcons return leading scorer Carly Santoro, who averaged 12 points and grabbed 7.4 rebounds a contest. She scored 20 points last season against the Colonels.
 
- EKU defeated Bowling Green, 57-55, last season in McBrayer. The Colonels lead the all-time series, 5-2.
