Tournament Schedule

ROCK HILL, S.C.  – After opening the 2017 campaign last weekend Charleston, the EKU softball team will head back to the Palmetto State for the three-day, seven team Winthrop/Adidas Invitational hosted by Winthrop University.
 
Eastern (0-5) will commence the event, taking on East Tennessee State University Friday at 11:00 a.m. The Colonels will follow Friday's first game with a 3 p.m. game against North Carolina Central University.
 
EKU will also have two games Saturday, taking on Mount Saint Mary's and Bucknell University in back-to-back games starting at 1 p.m. The Colonels will close out the event Sunday against Youngstown State University with a 10 a.m. scheduled first pitch.
 
Freshman Mia Sanchez and sophomore Rachel Minogue led the EKU offense last weekend. Both hit above .360 for the weekend, combining for 11 hits, five RBIs, and five runs scored.
 
On the mound, freshman Mollie Paulick tossed her first career complete game going eight innings, allowing just six hits in Sunday's loss to Monmouth. Paulick and the Colonels held the Hawks scoreless through the first six innings, before Monmouth plated runs in the seventh and eighth innings to hang on for the 2-1 victory.
 
Senior right hander Alex Sallberg logged 10 strikeouts in 10 and 1/3 innings last weekend.
