DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Eastern Kentucky University's men's tennis team split a pair of matches on Tuesday, beating Bethune-Cookman University, 4-0, after falling to Appalachian State, 6-1, earlier in the day.
 
Romain Stoffels picked up Eastern's lone point against Appalachian State when he beat Alex Brea in three sets.  Stoffels lost the first 6-1 before coming back to win the next two sets 6-1 and 6-3.
 
EKU (10-5) began its match against Bethune-Cookman by winning the doubles point.  Ramon van Flymen and Diego Asis posted a 6-0 shutout at No. 1 doubles.
 
Three Colonels earned singles victories and three matches went unfinished.  Sebastian Mueller posted a 6-4 and 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.  Asis did not lose a set on his way to a win at No. 4 singles.
 
Eastern will play at Northern Kentucky next Tuesday at 2 p.m.
