RICHMOND, Ky. – A win at No. 5 singles by Diego Asis gave the Eastern Kentucky men's tennis team a 4-3 victory over Lipscomb on Saturday at the Greg Adams Indoor Tennis Center.
 
Asis has now won eight straight singles matches during the indoor season.  He knocked off George Wong, 7-6 and 6-3, at to secure the match for Eastern Kentucky (9-4).
 
The Colonels have now won eight of their last nine matches.
 
"I cannot sing enough praises for Diego Asis, who went undefeated during the indoor season in singles," EKU Head Coach Rob Oertel said.  "The positive vibe he's bringing to the team is amazing." 
 
Sebastian Mueller (6-3 and 6-0) and Parth Aggarwal (6-0 and 6-2) also earned singles victories for EKU today.  Aggarwal ran his singles winning streak to six in a row.
 
"Diego and Sebastian were not to be denied today," Oertel said.  "That was the kind tennis they played and the outlook they had going out on the court today.  It was a nice victory for those two and for the Colonels overall." 
 
Eastern took the early lead by winning the doubles point.  Mueller teamed with Jan Kuehling for a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.  Asis and Ramon van Flymen secured the point with a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles.
 
Eastern Kentucky will play its next six matches on the road, beginning March 13 at Stetson University in Deland, Florida.  The match is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
