BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University's
Jack Piekos was named the  Ohio Valley Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Piekos kept Youngstown State in check on Friday as he notched 10 strikeouts in six scoreless innings, only allowing three hits on the way to EKU's 11-0 win, the first shutout victory since 2013.

The junior from Blue Point, New York has struck out 21 batters over his last two starts, and only given up 1 run between the two games. Piekos has a 2-1 record and his season ERA stands at 1.50, good for fourth in the OVC.

This is the first OVC Pitcher of the Week award given to a Colonel since May 6, 2013 when Brent Cobb earned the honors.
