CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – EKU will wrap up regular season play on the road this weekend. The Colonels will head to Austin Peay State on Friday and then up to West Lafayette, Indiana to take on Purdue on Sunday.
The Colonels (15-7, 4-1 OVC) are currently second in the conference, one game behind Tennessee Tech. But, depending on the results of Friday's match and TTU's two matches this weekend, EKU could be looking at a regular season conference title. In 2016 Eastern fell two matches behind Tech to finish second and in 2015 the two tied with an 8-1 conference record, but the Colonels had a better overall record.
EKU has won three of its last four matches after notching wins over conference foes Belmont University and Tennessee State over the weekend.
The Governors (5-11, 2-3 OVC) won against Eastern Illinois on Saturday, but before that were on a three-game skid.
The Boilermakers (14-11, 2-4 BIG 10) come into Sunday's matchup winning two of their last four matches.
First serve for Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m. and Sunday's is slated for 4 p.m.
