RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team is set to host a mid-week doubleheader against in-state rival Western Kentucky on Wednesday afternoon.

First pitch for game one is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., while game two is scheduled to start at approximately 5:00 p.m. at the all-new Gertrude Hood Field.

EKU (22-28, 9-9 OVC) swept Tennessee Tech at home last Saturday, before dropping both games of their doubleheader against first-place Jacksonville State on Sunday.

- SophomoreÂ
Rachel Minogue continues to lead the conference and EKU in batting average at .424, moving her to 29
th in the country. The Corona, California native is also first in the conference in hits (64) and second in a host of categories: RBI (43), doubles (16), and on-base percentage (.497).

Johnkyria Alston recently broke the EKU single-season record with 19 doubles, ranking her second in the nation and first in the conference.  The Haines City, Florida native also remains first in the conference with 44 RBI.

Hannah Clark continues to lead EKU in the home run category with nine on the year, placing her fifth in the conference.

Mollie Paulick has posted a 11-10 record to go along with a 2.70 ERA this spring. Over 34 appearances, she has rung up 120 batters.

THE OPPONENT
- Western Kentucky (26-26, 10-13 C-USA) has lost its last three games and five of its last seven. They are currently fourth in the eastern division of Conference USA.

- The Hilltoppers are led in the box by Jordan Mauch, who has recorded a .309 batting average and 12 homeruns on the year. In the circle, they are led by Kathryn Downing, who is tossing a 2.14 ERA.
