RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team will host in-state rival Morehead State for Senior Day on Saturday at Gertrude Hood Field.
 
The doubleheader is now scheduled to get underway at 3:00 p.m. It was previously scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
 
Four EKU seniors – 
Krislyn Campos, 
Amber Murray, 
Alex Sallberg and 
Kelly Wood – will be honored before first pitch.
 
It is also Alumni Weekend and the celebration of EKU softball's 25
th anniversary. Softball alumni from the past quarter-century will be recognized in between games of the doubleheader.
 
EKU (23-29, 9-9 OVC) split a doubleheader with in-state rival Western Kentucky at home on Wednesday. The Colonels have a secured a spot in the upcoming OVC Tournament; they are playing for seeding this weekend.
 
It will be Eastern's sixth consecutive postseason appearance.
 
AT THE PLATE
 - Junior 
Johnkyria Alston continues to rank second in the nation and first in the conference in doubles with 19. The Haines City, Florida native went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI in the game two win over Western Kentucky.
 
- Sophomore 
Rachel Minogue continues to lead the conference in batting average at .417. The Corona, California native is also first in the conference in hits (65) and second in a host of categories: RBI (44), doubles (16), and on-base percentage (.495).
- Senior catcher 
Amber Murray threw out two base runners attempting to steal against WKU, and she now leads the OVC with 15 base runners caught stealing.
 
IN THE CIRCLE
- Freshman 
Mollie Paulick has posted a 11-10 record to go along with a 2.80 ERA this spring. Over 36 appearances, she has rung up 124 batters.
 
- Senior 
Alex Sallberg sports a 3.24 ERA and has sat down 96 batters on the year.
 
THE OPPONENT
- Morehead State (26-20, 6-10 OVC) is coming off a spilt between Tennessee Tech last Sunday. The Eagles enter the weekend ninth in the OVC standings.
 
- MSU is led in the box by Allison Rager, who has recorded a .410 batting average and 57 runs on the year. In the circle, they are paced by Chelsea McManaway, who is tossing a 1.73 ERA.
 
UP NEXT
- The Colonels will participate in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in Oxford, Alabama, May 10-13. Game times and opponents are TBD.
