RICHMOND, Ky. – Sophomore
DeAndre Dishman scored a career high 21 points, but the Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball team lost to Jacksonville State University, 68-60, on Saturday at McBrayer Arena.

Nick Mayo notched his fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 boards and, in doing so, grabbed his 500
th career rebound. He is only the eighth Colonel ever to score 1,300 points and grab 500 rebounds in a career.

Eastern Kentucky (8-13, 2-6 OVC) also got a 20-point effort from freshman
Dedric Boyd, who went 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.

The Colonels outrebounded the Gamecocks, 44-31. JSU came into the game with the second-best rebounding margin in the OVC (+6.2).

JSU (15-6, 6-2 OVC) was led by Malcolm Drumwright's 20 points. Jason Burnell contributed 15 points and eight rebounds.

Eastern rallied behind an 11-0 run in the first half to grab its largest lead of the game, 20-12, when Mayo buried a jumper with 11:52 on the clock. Jacksonville State responded with an 11-2 run of its own and a jumper by Burnell put them up 23-22 with just under five minutes left in the half. A three-pointer by Ashton Spears gave Jacksonville State a 31-26 lead heading into the locker room at halftime.

The Gamecock's advantage continued to grow in the second half, with a Burnell three-pointer allowing them to claim their largest lead of the game, 52-39, with 9:40 to play. The Colonels cut the deficit to seven, 63-56, on a pair of Dishman free throws with 1:46 remaining. However, JSU held on for the win.

Eastern will be back in action on Thursday when the Colonels travel to Clarksville, Tennessee to face Austin Peay State University. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
