Colonels Travel North To Take On Western Michigan Wednesday

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky's women's basketball team travels to Kalamazoo to take on the Broncos of Western Michigan on Wednesday.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will air live on ESPN+.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The series is tied all-time 2-2.   
 
-  Last time the two teams met was in 2016, Western Michigan won 74-59.
 
-  The first meeting between the two teams was in 1994, EKU won 89-66.
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky lost a pair of games in the Bahamas against No. 32 Florida State and No. 20 West Virginia.
 
-  Newcomer Catie Kaifes led the way offensively for the Colonels averaging 12.5 points per game last week.
 
-  Kaifes shot 50 percent from the field and 47 percent from the three-point line in the two contests.  
 
Abby Wright scored 11 points in the loss to Florida State. 
 
-  EKU ranks sixth in the conference in three-point field goals made.
 
-  Teri Goodlett leads the team with 3.0 assists per-game
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Western Michigan lost its last game to Ole Miss, 69-66.  
 
-  The Broncos are led by Leighah-Amori Wool who is scoring 13.5 points per game.   
 
-  WMU has three players averaging double-digits in points on the year.   
 
-  The Broncos rank 13th in the country in fewest turnovers.  
 
- Western Michigan is averaging 6.8 steals per game.
 
- Nina Farkic leads the team with 13 assists on the year.
