EKU To Take On West Virginia In Charleston On Saturday

RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU's women's basketball teams travels to Charleston, West Virginia to take on the Mountaineers in a neutral site contest on Saturday.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  West Virginia leads the all-time series 3-1.
 
-  The Mountaineers won the last meeting 81-39 earlier this year.
 
-  The first ever meeting between the two teams was in 1979.
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky (1-8) lost to George Mason, 91-75, on Dec. 9.
 
Abby Wright scored a team-high 18 points with four rebounds in the game against GMU.
 
-  The last time the two teams met, Catie Kaifes scored a career-high 13 points, knocking down three 3-pointers.   
 
-  Shay Solomon has posted four straight games in double-digits.  
 
-  EKU ranks fourth in the conference in three-point field goals made.
 
-  The Colonels are fifth in the conference in assists.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  West Virginia (5-2) beat Pittsburgh, 77-43, on Dec. 8.
 
-  WVU received three votes in the latest USA Today Sports Top 25 coaches' poll.
 
-  The Mountaineers are led by Tynice Martin who is averaging 19.1 points per game along with 7.9 rebounds a game.
 
-  The last time the two teams met Kysre Gondrezick had 17 points and six assists.
 
-  WVU has four players averaging double digits in points.
 
- West Virginia ranks fifth in the country in turnover margin.
                          
- WVU ranks eighth in the country in scoring margin.
