MOREHEAD, Ky. – A late 11-3 run by Eastern Kentucky allowed the Colonels to tie the game at 46-46 with 2:47 remaining, but Morehead State escaped with a 62-51 win.

A'Queen Hayes led the way with five points during the 11-3 run to tie the game. Sophomore Breuna Jackson's three-pointer with 2:52 remaining in the game ended the Colonel run and put Morehead State up for good.

Eastern Kentucky used a 13-4 run to start the game to take an early advantage over in-state rival Morehead State. Â The Eagles used an 11-1 run, extending to the 7:44 mark of the second period, to take their first lead of the game at 15-14.

The two teams were trading baskets for most of the second quarter until the Eagles used a 12-2 run ending with a Miranda Crockett basket with 0.04 seconds remaining in the first half to take a 27-20 lead into intermission.

Hayes led the way for the Colonels with 12 points and eight rebounds. Shay Soloman had 12 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
Abby Wright pitched in 10 points along with nine rebounds.

Madison Wood contributed nine points and four rebounds in her last game as a Colonel.
