RICHMOND, Ky. – Following nine days without a game, the Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball team will face South Carolina Upstate on Tuesday evening in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Tip from the Hodge Center is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.

WHAT TO KNOW
EKU (3-4) has not played since Saturday, Nov. 23, a 65-51 loss to Cleveland State in Washington D.C.
Junior
Darius Hicks pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds vs. Cleveland State. That is tied for the most rebounds by a Colonel in a single game since at least 2003-04. Hicks currently ranks third in the OVC in rebounding (8.6 rebounds-per-game).
Senior
Ty Taylor was voted the OVC Newcomer of the Week on Nov. 25. He averaged 16 points and 5.3 rebounds-per-game while shooting 41% from deep over three games from Nov. 19-23. He was also named to the Battle for the Capital All-Tournament Team.
Sophomore
Jomaru Brown went 19-of-24 from the free throw line in two games in Washington D.C. He now ranks 10th in the OVC in free throw percentage (77.8%).
EKU currently leads the OVC and ranks third in the country in steals-per-game (11.4). The Colonels rank second in the country in turnovers forced-per-game (22.7).
Eastern also leads the OVC in free throw percentage (75.2%), turnover margin (+5.4) and three-point field goal percentage defense (26.8%).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
USC Upstate (1-7) won its season opener but has lost seven straight since, including an 83-47 defeat at Charlotte on Nov. 30.
Everette Hammond is the only Spartan averaging double figures (11.0 points-per-game).
This is only the second all-time meeting between EKU and USC Upstate. The Colonels defeated the Spartans, 79-77, last December in Richmond. Senior
Lachlan Anderson had 12 points, seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals in that win.
