Catie Kaifes had nine points and a rebound off the bench.

After a three-pointer by Goodlett cut the Gamecock lead to 23-18, Jacksonville State (8-10, 4-3 OVC) used a 16-4 run over six minutes in the second quarter to take a commanding 39-22 lead and not look back.

The Colonels cut the JSU lead to 10, 46-36, after a Stanton jumper but could never get any closer.

Eastern shot 34 percent (20-for-59) for the night. Jacksonville State connected on 38 percent of its attempts from the field and out-rebounded the Colonels 47-35.

Destinee Elliott matched a career-high 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Jessie Day chipped in 10 points.

EKU wraps up its road trip on Saturday when the Colonels take on Tennessee Tech. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
