RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University's men's basketball team was picked to finish second in the ASUN Conference and head coach A.W. Hamilton was projected as the ASUN Coach of the Year by Heat Check CBB.

Heat Check CBB released its 124-page college basketball season preview magazine on Oct. 13.  The magazine picked defending league champ Liberty as the preseason ASUN favorite.

"EKU will contend in its first ASUN trial as a new member," Heat Check said of the Colonels.  "EKU could be the top challenger for the Flames' tile this season."

Eastern Kentucky was also picked to finish second in the ASUN by the conference's head coaches in a poll released earlier this month.  College Sports Madness and CBS Sports have picked the Colonels to win the ASUN.

The 2021-22 season begins at home on Nov. 9 against Georgetown College.
