RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team fell to the University of North Florida, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon in Richmond.

The Ospreys (8-2-1, 3-1 ASUN) got off to a quick start striking early in the eighth minute on a Marissa House goal off an assist by Kayla Bond.

The score held true going into the half.

Each team had three shots on goal in the first half. UNF had nine shots and the Colonels had six.

EKU (5-7, 1-3 ASUN) picked up its pressure in the second half.

The Colonels had 10 shots in the second half, four on frame but the UNF goalkeeper made numerous good saves to keep EKU off the board.

North Florida took a 2-0 lead in the 70th minute after Thais Reiss found the back of the net after a good save by
Sabrina Hinz on the first shot attempt.

EKU outshot UNF 16-14 on the contest with both teams having seven shots on frame. The Ospreys had five corner kicks compared to the Colonels' three.

Hinz had four saves on the match.

Eastern continues its four-game homestand on Thursday when the Colonels welcome in North Alabama. The match starts at 4 p.m.
