Final Results

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern's men's golf team moved up three spots on the final day of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate to finish tied for sixth.
 
Andreas Nielson led the Colonels and tied for ninth overall with a three-round total of 214 (-2).  He shot rounds of 1-under 71, 4-under 68 and a 3-over 75.
 
EKU had a 54-hole total of 875 after firing rounds of 298, 287 and 290.  Eastern tied with Detroit Mercy and finished one shot behind fifth place Findlay.
 
The 15-team event was contested on the River Course at the Sevierville Golf Club.  The course had a par of 72 and played to 6,891 yards.
 
Tennessee-Martin (851) and Morehead State (851) tied for first at 13-under.  Host Tennessee Tech (853) was third.  The Colonels finished in front of such programs as Murray State (8th), Evansville (9th), Northern Iowa (11th), Austin Peay (12th) and Northern Kentucky (13th).
 
Willis Gaer sandwiched rounds of even-par 72 around a second round 74 for a total of 218 (+2).  He tied for 25th overall.  Billy Basham shot back-to-back rounds of 1-over 73 to close out with a total of 224 and tie for 42nd.
 
The Colonels return to action on March 28-30 at the three-day Craft Farms Intercollegiate hosted by the University of South Alabama at the Craft Farms Golf Club in Gulf Shores, Ala.
