Richmond, Ky - The Eastern Kentucky University men's golf team returns to action Monday as the Colonels compete in the Cullan Brown Collegiate, hosted by the University of Kentucky at Lexington Country Club.

EKU will compete against a strong 15-team field in the two-day event, which features several of the region's top collegiate programs. The tournament gets underway Monday, October 5, with the opening two rounds beginning at 9 a.m. ET with a shotgun start. The final round is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, also beginning at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.

The 54-hole tournament will be played on the par-71, 7,255-yard layout at Lexington Country Club.

The EKU lineup for the tournament will consist ofÂ
Hristo Yanakiev, Jameson Corbin, Jonathan Ericsson, Tucker Jones, and Zach Watterson. The pentad of Colonels begins Monday's opening round on the back nine, paired alongside Western Kentucky and West Florida.
Other competing schools in the event include Kentucky, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Tennessee, NC State, Memphis, Kennesaw State, Iowa State, Penn State, North Alabama, Xavier, and VCU.Â
EKU enters the tournament coming off a sixth-place finish at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational. The Colonels closed the event strong, carding a one-under-par 279 in the final round. Jones led EKU with rounds of 72, 72 and 68, highlighted by five birdies, to finish tied for 12th individually.Â
This week's tournament marks the third consecutive season that EKU has competed in the Cullan Brown Collegiate.
The Cullan Brown Collegiate was started in 2024 in honor of former Kentucky men's golfer, Cullan Brown, who tragically lost his battle with Osteosarcoma in 2020. A native of Eddyville, Kentucky, Brown was an All-Southeastern Conference Freshman Team selection in 2019. Brown is survived by his parents, Rodney and Emily, along with his sister Cathryn, a current member of the Kentucky women's golf team.
