DeLand, Fla. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team fell on the road at Stetson University, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon.
 
Stetson (5-5-1, 2-0 ASUN) got on board in the 31st minute after Lea Alexander found Georgia Place in the box after a corner kick to give the Hatters a 1-0 lead.
 
The Colonels had two opportunities in the first 25 minutes with two shots just missing off the crossbar.
 
The Hatters went into the break leading, 1-0.
 
Eastern Kentucky (4-6, 0-2 ASUN) would keep the pressure on Stetson in the second half and had its third shot of the day hit the post but could not find the back of the net.
 
Stetson scored its second goal in the 83rd minute.
 
Stetson out-shot the Colonels 16-12 on the contest. The Hatters had six shots on goal compared to the Colonels four.
 
Eastern Kentucky only managed three corner kicks on the match.
 
The Colonels return home on Thursday to continue ASUN play when Eastern Kentucky welcomes in Jacksonville. The match starts at 4 p.m.
