EKU Soccer Returns Home For ASUN Play Against Jacksonville And North Florida

RICHMOND, Ky. –
The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team returns home for conference play when the Colonels welcome in Jacksonville and North Florida to Richmond.
 
The Colonels take on Jacksonville on Thursday at 4 p.m. and North Florida on Sunday at 1 p.m.

WHAT TO KNOW
 
EKU enters the week 4-6 (0-2 ASUN) after falling to Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson last week.
 
Michaela Iacono leads the offensive charge for the Colonels with two goals and four assists. Her four assists' rank tied for first in the conference.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Marah Krick ranks second in the conference in saves on the season with 50.
 
The Colonels bring in a balanced offensive attack with four players having scored two goals.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
Jacksonville comes into the week at 5-4-1 (0-2 ASUN) after falling to Central Arkansas and Lipscomb over the weekend.
 
The Dolphins are led offensively by Selma Fohrer who has a team-best three goals and four assists. Jacksonville has three players with three goals on the year.
 
Courtney Green leads the way as their top goalkeeper. Green has posted a 3-3-2 record on the season with 29 saves.
 
North Florida comes in at 6-2-1 (1-1 ASUN) after splitting a pair of matches over the weekend.
 
The Ospreys are led offensively by Thais Reiss who has a team-best six goals on the season. Her six goals rank second in the ASUN.
 
Mercedes Sapp has posted a 6-2-1 record for UNF as the goalkeeper this year. Sapp has 40 saves on the season.

Eastern Kentucky continues its four-game homestand next week when the Colonels welcome in North Alabama on Thursday and Lipscomb on Sunday. The match on Thursday starts at 4 p.m.
